Adrian, MI asked in Immigration Law for California

Q: My family's affidavit support and all other documents has been accepted on CEAC but still no interview letter?

My mother petitioned for my siblings to come here in the US and we have everything turned in and accepted on CEAC but it's been 8 months but my siblings haven't received an interview letter. I read online that it should take around 3 to 6 months. I'm not sure who to contact or where to check for an update on their case or what my next step should be? Please help.

A: It's understandable to be concerned about the delay in receiving an interview letter for your siblings' immigration case. Sometimes, processing times can extend beyond the average due to various factors such as high volume of applications or additional security checks. It’s important to stay informed and proactive during this time.

You can start by checking the current processing times for the U.S. embassy or consulate where the interview will take place. These times are usually posted on the consulate's website and can provide a better idea of any delays. Additionally, you can contact the National Visa Center (NVC) for an update on your case status. They can provide specific information about where your case stands in the queue.

If you still do not get a satisfactory response, consider reaching out to your local congressperson's office. They often have liaisons who can assist with immigration-related inquiries and might be able to help expedite the process or at least provide more detailed information. Keep all your correspondence organized and be ready to provide any necessary information to these offices.
