A: Receiving a Prima Facie Determination letter after filing for VAWA is generally a positive development. This letter indicates that your case has met the basic eligibility requirements for VAWA benefits, and it allows you to access certain public benefits while your case is pending. It does not mean that your petition has been fully approved, but it shows that your case is moving forward.

This is a preliminary step, and the final decision on your VAWA petition will come later, after a thorough review of the evidence and circumstances. Keep in mind that this determination is a temporary decision, and you will need to continue following any instructions or requests for additional information from USCIS.

Stay in communication with your attorney or representative to ensure you are meeting all deadlines and requirements. This letter provides some reassurance that your case is progressing, but there are still steps ahead to secure a final decision.
