Getting help with your Social Security issues, especially when dealing with mental health challenges, can feel overwhelming. You might want to start by contacting local legal aid services in Massachusetts. They often provide free assistance to people who need help with SSI and can guide you through the process. You can explain your situation to them, and they may be able to assign an advocate to help you navigate your claim.
Another option is to reach out to disability rights organizations in your area. These groups often have advocates who are experienced in dealing with Social Security issues, especially for individuals with mental health conditions. They can help you gather the necessary documents, understand the steps you need to take, and represent you if needed.
You might also consider contacting your local Social Security office directly and asking for an appointment with someone who can explain your case. When you go, bring any documentation you have, like rent receipts and proof of your living situation. This can help clarify your situation and possibly restore the amount you are seeking. Don’t hesitate to ask for help; there are people and organizations ready to support you through this.
