A: It’s important to recognize that transferring money for someone else, especially large sums, can be risky, and your suspicion of money laundering is serious. Since your account was closed for fraud, it’s possible that the bank or authorities are investigating the activity. Even if you didn’t intend to commit a crime, participating in these transfers could put you at risk of legal consequences.

Your best course of action now is to stop all involvement with the person and document everything you did. This includes the dates, amounts, and any communications you had regarding the transactions. Be honest and transparent if contacted by authorities or the bank.

Consider reaching out to a legal professional who can guide you through this situation. It's essential to take the matter seriously, as money laundering is a federal crime, and protecting yourself now is the priority.
