A: It sounds like you're going through a difficult time with your CPS case, and it's important to know that you have rights. If you believe you’ve been discriminated against or retaliated against, you may be able to seek legal help to ensure you are treated fairly. Gathering evidence like text messages and other communications can be crucial in supporting your claims.

Even though your appointed lawyer mentioned that your case plan may not guarantee your daughter’s return, you should not give up. It's essential to communicate your focus on your child’s well-being clearly and continue working on completing the steps set out in your case plan. You might want to request a meeting with your lawyer to discuss how they are addressing the discrimination and retaliation concerns, and how they plan to protect your parental rights.

If you’re struggling to find affordable representation, there are often legal aid organizations that provide assistance in child custody and CPS cases for free or at low cost. Reaching out to them as soon as possible may help you secure a lawyer who can advocate for you and ensure your side of the story is fully heard in court.
