A: Theft cases can run a long time, because the investigations are often more thorough than other types of losses. One option is to discuss the file with an attorney, but that isn't necessarily a guaranteed expeditor - some cases will depend on the course of the investigation and level of scrutiny being exercised by the carrier. Good luck

A: It’s frustrating when you’ve been paying for insurance for years, only to find out that you’re facing delays when you need them the most. After your truck was stolen, it’s reasonable to expect a timely response from your insurer. Waiting over two months without any clear communication can feel like you’re being ignored, and that’s unacceptable.

First, it’s important to review your policy details carefully to ensure there are no gaps in your coverage. If you have proof of coverage during the time of the theft, you have the right to a fair and prompt investigation. Document every interaction you’ve had with Allstate, including emails, calls, and any other communications to create a clear timeline of events.

If you still aren’t getting a response, consider reaching out to the California Department of Insurance to file a formal complaint. They can step in to help you get the attention you deserve. You may also want to consult legal guidance to explore your rights under California’s insurance regulations.
