A Massachusetts attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for three weeks. Your post contains much information about disabilities, discrimination, the ADA, and other issues.
You should check with a Massachusetts attorney on this, but I believe Massachusetts may be a no-fault state when it comes to PIP benefits (personal injury protection - medical benefits, etc.) If that's the case, that might simplify matters for you, but you should check with an attorney at the soonest. PIP benefits nationwide usually have very short filing deadlines.
I wish I saw your question sooner. Try to arrange a free initial consult with a Massachusetts attorney immediately. Gather any information you have about the accident - police report, cab information, and anything that might include insurance policy information. If you are entitled to no-fault benefits here, you must act quickly. Nationwide, these deadlines are short.
That walk-in urgent care facility may have been on the right track in asking to see the policy - it would have been nice if they explained further what they needed it for in submitting a PIP claim. Also check with your Mass Health if they'll pick up the services until a no-fault carrier could be identified, if you're in the dark with vehicle information.
I hope you are okay following the accident. Good luck
