Bixby, OK asked in Child Custody for Oklahoma

Q: How can I gain custody without having the child placed into DHS/ICWA custody?

Last year my brothers widow ask me to keep her 3yr grl. while she turned herself in and fought a 2nd deg burglary and got herself cleaned up. While in DLM a dhs worker visited her got verbal statement she wanted me to keep grl. Dhs worker comes to me. I tell her to talk to my tribe before coming to me. She comes back. 2wks icwa/okdhs are telling me not to give her baby back if she comes for her. When I got this baby she was scared to make noise, scared of running water in a tub and shower, hid when she made a mess, and would cry non stop when it came time for bed. Mother gets out, I call icwa/okdhs when she knocks on my door and calls tribal police. I go talk to the police. They talk to the worker the sgt made a decision child to stay w/me. Im told to file guardianship and they'd help me. I file with tribe AG. 2wk both party say, give baby back or face kidnapping? 6mo. Mom shows up. Hands baby to my brothers cousin. Now this baby w/cuz son. I see her hugs me says mama i come home u?
