Q: I purchased a car through Facebook Marketplace & got scammed, The mileage was changed from 206,210 to 134,000.
There was no pink slip only bill of sale. The last owner is still on the paperwork not the person who sold it, He changes his name alot so he won't get caught. it was also a recalled vehicle a Hyundai accent 2012. I have put a new catalytic converter, new battery & who knows what else is wrong, it does shake, the tire sensors are bad, & it smells like gas now. At this point who would be held liable? I can't pin the person down who sold it to me. however there are dealerships on the bill of sale. what type of case is this if I have one? small claims or civil, I do have the paperwork as well as the background check on the car. unfortunately I paid cash lesson learn. I didn't register the car cause the mileage is wrong & the car is not going to last much longer
