McConnelsville, OH asked in Criminal Law for Ohio

Q: I’m in OH, got papers to appear in court accusing me of theft from my grandpa filing

I am in Ohio and am facing a theft charge from my grandpa. A little context my grandmother passed in September of last year. We spent months there going through all her stuff. He gave me, my mom, my aunt, etc; clothes, purses, shoes, books, blankets. And we went through stuff to donate or throw away as well. At the beginning of the year he offered for me and my kids to move in with him as we were bouncing from place to place and it was cold. In may, my mom and I got an apartment together and after many months of my grandpas bullying to me and my children I packed my stuff up and moved. I had a friend help who has also given a witness statement to these accusations.

Now we have to appear at court the 30th of this month being accused of theft because I grabbed my kids bikes my grandma bought for my children.
