Q: got a promotion for my company’s first overseas contract. Being the first, my company did not know all that was required
For to have me start work in the new place. So they sent me overseas with no mission visa and had me working for 3 months before allowing me to then go back to the U.S. and apply for my mission visa to continue work.
During the time I was working, I was instructed to tell immigration that I was traveling for vacation, but I was being paid per diem by the company because it is a DoD contract position.
I was pressured into signing a housing lease to continue receiving housing allowance & the landlord gave me a temporary lease until I obtained my mission visa. After returning with my mission visa, I then applied for a sojourners permit and EU tax code to continue renting a home & working without having to return to the U.S. after the 90 day rule.
Can I sue?
