Q: Pl. and Def. reside at the same address(KS), and sheriff served by taping to the door. Is this defective?

Default judgement entered against Defendant. Video shows sheriff walk towards house(camera angle doesn't show door) and leaving 11 seconds later. This does not seem like a "reasonable attempt" before just serving by leaving at residence. Plaintiff is the next person on the video timeline (40 minutes after the sheriff "served"). This seems obvious to me that it is improper. Best to motion to set aside; motion to dismiss; or some other action? District court in Kansas
