We were running a gas station in VA (VA LLC) and had commercial liability and umbrella insurance coverage. There was a fire gas station and the insurance company denied claim, citing non-compliant fire equipment. We initially hired a public adjuster who reviewed the case, as the insurance company did not do the inspection as required, even with multiple follow-ups. They also sent a notice to the agent that said they will cancel the policy if the inspection was not completed. The inspector never showed up and the policy was never canceled. The adjuster advised our best course of action is to file a civil lawsuit for that and also file a complaint with the state corporation commission. We have not been able to find an attorney in VA, that can take the case. The main reason seems to be the lack of overlap between attorneys that handle insurance claims and also civil litigation. Like to get advice on how to find an attorney to help.
