Q: Do i have a case for retaliation in my workplace?
I work at Electric Boat in Groton CT for starters. The department im in has had issues with hourly people and salary people and co-workers complain about nothing changing. So having requested personally things to change so that i can learn and get more skilled on systems of the boat and testing, flat out told im not needed despite being requested by other supervisors to educate me. I cant trust the chain of command in my department and while walking around the shipyard i run into one of the directors and introduce and explain some of the problems within the shop and the environment being filled with lazy people, people who sit around all day on their phones and some issues regarding task management form supervisors or interdepartmental things that could be changed for the better.
Since then after being promised none of this conversation or my name would be dropped excluding any chances of the interaction coming back to me. It has come back to me in a retaliatory way.
