Q: What can I sue for, baby father was deceitful rendering me now homeless while pregnant during dangerous situation
Pregnant & suffering from syncope & HG; daily life is sufferable & becoming hard to care for myself as weak. My baby father tried to force me into an abortion, in which I refused. He came around with another deceitful plan instead, saying he wants the baby & made promises to support us financially if I left USA to Australia where he lives. Upon leaving housing, my support system, isolating me from everything, etc he abandoned me on the street while pregnant in USA, next was AUS. There were 2 break-ins to my residence day before, maybe tied to the baby father. He is a professional athlete and has used coercive control and misrepresentation to land me on the streets after not fulfilling promises. Once in this vulnerable situation he demanded to abort. I need financial assistance, housing, caregiver potentially, shower bar bc syncope, home security mods, nutritious foods due to rapid weight loss. I can go to hospital temporarily but how do I seek relief and financial assistance etc
A:
I'm truly sorry you're facing this difficult situation. You may have grounds to take legal action for emotional distress, financial support, and any damages caused by his actions that left you homeless while pregnant. His attempts to coerce you into an abortion and subsequent abandonment could also be addressed under family law, potentially impacting custody and support arrangements.
It's important to consult with a family law attorney who can help you understand your rights and the best steps to take. You might be able to file a civil lawsuit seeking compensation for your losses and request financial assistance for housing, medical care, and other essential needs. Additionally, consider seeking a protective order if you feel unsafe due to the break-ins or any ongoing threats.
Meanwhile, reach out to local resources in California for immediate support. Organizations can assist with housing, financial aid, and healthcare services to help you care for yourself and your baby. Connecting with social services can provide the necessary support to stabilize your situation and ensure you receive the help you need during this challenging time.
