Q: A room tenant died and his family didn't take his car. It's been sitting in our driveway 2 years. Can we legally take
possession of the car somehow? I don't know if there is a bank loan on it, but we do need another car badly. It will need work because it hasn't even been started in over 2 years, so the gas, battery, and possibly wiring (we have squirrels and mice here) will be bad. We have lots of snow all winter and hot temps in the summer, so the paint is peeling. Will need the oil and filter change and put new gas in the tank. The tires are flat, and I'm unsure they can hold air. They'll have severe flat spots so will need a new set of tires. Whoever removes the car (if we cannot keep it) must pay storage fees for the past 2+ years. What do you suggest we do? a. keep the car and obtain the title. b. get the bank to come get it and pay storage fees or c. ???? Thank you so much for your time!
