Q: can I get charged for not cutting the grasseven though I don't own the house ?

My mother owns the house. I used to live with her, neither of us live there now. they listed it as condemned because of smoke alarms being battery operated and not wired and the outlets needing gifs or gfis but the city's code enforcement decided to charge me with not cutting the grass instead of the owner. (My mother) I'm currently serving 60 days for the charges revoking my probation. (I'm the trustee)

A: I'm sorry this is happening to you. First priority, reach out to criminal defense attorneys/legal aid for guidance on the probation related issues. In terms of the condemnation issues, attorneys who deal with code violations and related matters should be able to help sort those out. It looks like you are dealing with a very aggressive code enforcement - there are so many homes across the nation that have broken/non-working GFCI's (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters). Good luck
