Long Beach, CA asked in Foreclosure and Real Estate Law for Ohio

Q: What Can Be done after mortgage lender gave bad information on federal loan for covid?

Long Story. Shortened version: Signed up for the covid relief refinance program after falling behind. Lady I was speaking to told me its not guaranteed and "if" accepted what would happen. I asked if sending in money etc would help and she said yes. I said I did not want to do that and not be approved though as it wouldnt be conducive for my family. She stated the money would be put into an account and held til either I was accepted or declined for the covid refi. I sent in 5k and the money sat there for quite a long time. I was approved and when i spoke again I said I would like to use the money as payment for the next 6months. "no problem" then after the new refi plan started the next month I got forclosure papers. They took the money, applied it to the past due and started the account fresh. Had to do the refi again and rate went from 2% to 7% in a month. Another person I spoke to said she gave me a lot of bad information and I should speak to a lawyer. Theres more but limited space
