Bonney Lake, WA asked in Personal Injury, Products Liability and Workers' Compensation for Washington

Q: The attorney I worked with for three years quit the firm and I wasn't notified for three months.

Is this legal in Washington State? I thought the firm was supposed to notify me in a timely manner so I could chose to follow the attorney, find a new one or stay with the firm.

Even after eight months, the new attorny I was assigned doesn't know vital details of my case as he hasn't taken the time to get up to speed plus the former attorney had a lot of the details in her head.

My contract states I would have to pay $400 an hour if I leave this firm. Is this enforceble. I feel my case if now at risk.
