Dallas, TX asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Texas

Q: Can I go live with my dad if I am 16 years old but my mom doesn't want to let me go live with him?

I am originally from Honduras, I lived with my mother until I was 7 years old, she came to the United States and left me living with my grandmother, 2 years later my grandmother died and I went to live with my father but that was only for a year because my mother did not want me to live with him, so she sent my uncle to look for me at my father's and I went to live with my uncle, where I was not well taken care of and they abused me, then my father took the courage to go for me and bring me with him to the United States, but one time we were here, my mother looked for him and threatened to accuse him of sexual abuse, so my father was afraid and gave me to my mother and based on that, he was deported because in our case if I was not in my father's custody, he would be deported and my mother did not care about that, now my father is here with the whole family and I do not feel comfortable living with my mother so I would like to live with my father
