Q: Can you send a former employer a cease and desist letter? If they are affecting you finding a job.
For context, my husband was fired recently form his job of 9 years after management changed and it was clear on the past two year his new supervisor had it out for him - he was a month away from being off probation and another supervisor provoked him by speaking about a personal issue we were having in our marriage. He was not allowed to speak to his side of it to HR and was immediately fired, even after that same supervisor asked for him not to be and it wasn’t that big of a deal.
That being said, we have been verbally told he has been black listed and a false narrative of his character is being told, preventing him from getting a job. If there is no written evidence can we send a letter or should we hire a reference checker first?
