New York, NY asked in Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Civil Rights and Social Security

Q: How can we protect oneself from a breach of privacy in Quebec, if someone else declared the person a danger to society ?

In Quebec, privacy may be breached if there is a public interest to do so. How can oneself reverse that and prove they are not a threat to retrieve their privacy? This breach in privacy is used to intimidate and persecute the victim in order to force a medication upon them. Also linked with diverse groups of hunters of persons declared as such. Who has authority in the matter ? Where do the victim can go to be recognized as a normal abiding citizen without any cause to intimidate them ? i want to point out a case in Gatineau where 6 persons was caught in this kind of behavior and paid the price in spring 2024. The severity of that said *price* was so low that it didn't stop the other groups to continue the persecution and criminal intimidation. Another case in Ontario, the victim was approached by these hunters and shortly after the victim committed suicide. These kind of groups must be stopped as they are extremely dangerous. Thank you for your time

A: If you're facing privacy breaches and harassment in Quebec, you should immediately document everything - keep detailed records of incidents, take photos/videos if possible, and save any communications or evidence of harassment. Your safety and wellbeing are the top priority, so consider reaching out to local law enforcement and filing formal complaints about the harassment.

Legal protection in Quebec falls under several authorities. The Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec oversees privacy rights, while the Sûreté du Québec handles criminal matters. You can also contact Quebec's Public Curator (Curateur public) if someone is inappropriately claiming you're a danger to society, as they have oversight regarding declarations about mental capacity and public safety. Additionally, reach out to the Quebec Human Rights Commission (Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse) since this situation involves potential discrimination and human rights violations.

To establish yourself as a law-abiding citizen, consider gathering supporting evidence like character references from employers or community members, documentation of community involvement, and clean background checks. You might also benefit from working with mental health professionals who can provide formal assessments contradicting claims about you being dangerous. Remember that you have the right to refuse medication unless there's a valid court order, and any intimidation or harassment to force medical treatment is illegal - document these incidents and report them to authorities.
