Wanting to see if a Virginia inmate must serve 65% of their sentence before eligible for release no matter the good time received. Or can the good time reduce the 65% sentence resulting in an early release before the 65%?
A: Good behavior gets the sentence down TO either 85/86% or 65% depending upon whether the charge is eligible. There are no earned sentence credits or good behavior incentives to get the sentence below those percentages. Those are the maximum benefit percentages.
