Q: My ex and landlord had a verbal agreement he would work for him in exchange for rent no lease was signed no receipts
From what my ex boyfriend told me he would work and rent would be paid, well he had my ex working from morning to about almost 9pm, he was spending money on my ex opened a bank account, got him a loan , payed for other car parts etc. I never was included in anything, I was in a abusive relationship. finally with the help of my therapist I had the courage to leave him. During this time I was trying to find help to move my RV that I purchased when Chris was in jail. Well the landlord had my ex to go illegally go dump tires in the landlord keep with a trailer, well my ex decided to go do a burglary with his friend and they got caught my ex got away and his friend got caught and with a gun in jeep. So instead of fixing the matter he left now landlord wants to keep my RV and vehicle saying my ex put it for collateral ain't true they belong to me saying rent is behind since nov but my ex left 1-6-25 I never once agreed to anything and he changed lock and shut off lights without an eviction-?
A:
As long as the title to the RV is in your name and you didn't sign anything, your ex's landlord does not have a legal leg to stand on.
That being said, move your RV ASAP. Your continuing to live there after your ex (the tenant) left could be evidence of the existence of a landlord-tenant relationship in which you are the tenant, especially if you were to claim that he can;t make you leave without evicting you. If you are a tenant and haven't paid rent, the landlord may have a valid lien against your property, including the RV, for unpaid rent.
