Acton, MA asked in Business Formation, Business Law and Real Estate Law for Massachusetts

Q: What liability does using a homeowner's address for my EIN bring to them in Massachusetts?

I am starting a food delivery side hustle as an independent contractor in Massachusetts, similar to DoorDash and Instacart. I have obtained an EIN from the IRS using the home address of a homeowner who is not involved in my business operations. I will utilize this address only for registration and paperwork, such as tax filings. There are no HOA restrictions, and the state and town do not require a business certificate for a sole proprietorship under my legal name. Home based businesses, other than retail, are allowed at residences in all zones. What liability, if any, could this bring to the homeowner?
