Memphis, TN asked in Employment Law and Contracts for Arkansas

Q: Can I challenge losing full-time status for reduced hours in Arkansas?

I live in Arkansas and work at a small LLC. I am a full-time employee, averaging about 38 hours a week. Recently, due to personal concerns involving my children's care, my average weekly hours have decreased to about 32. My employer has threatened to revoke my full-time status and benefits unless I return to a 38-hour average by the end of the quarter. My employment contract does not specify criteria for full-time status and I have not received any written notice about this change. Can I legally challenge this action if my employer proceeds with changing my status?
