A: If you usually receive your SSI benefits on the first of the month and didn’t get them in April, the first thing you should do is check your bank account again to confirm the deposit didn’t arrive late. Sometimes delays can happen due to weekends, holidays, or processing issues. If the first fell on a weekend, the payment might have been issued on the last business day of the previous month instead.

If the money still hasn’t shown up, contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) right away at 1-800-772-1213. Be ready with your Social Security number and any details about your usual payment method. You can also check your my Social Security account online to see if there are any notices or changes to your benefits.

If you use Direct Express, you might want to call their customer service at 1-888-741-1115 to check for any issues with your card. In rare cases, payments can be delayed due to technical glitches or account errors. Taking quick action can help get things sorted out faster and avoid further disruptions.
