Houston, TX asked in Personal Injury for Texas

Q: I was in a car accident four years ago.

The other person went to a doctor the next day but I heard nothing about this person after even though I was deemed at fault. Is there any kind of time limit this person has to suing me?

A: The general statute of limitations in Texas is 2 years for car accidents. There are a few exceptions such as minors.

A: As Mr Baumgartner said statute is two years. Do know that your insurance coverage sticks as of the time of a crash--so if for some odd reason someone would file late--say there was a 5 year old in the car--your company would cover it.
