Q: What is Hawaii law concerning the use of surveillance cameras?
The HOA for my condo association is proposing to install surveillance cameras on all entrances (including all pedestrian entrances) to my condo building (primarily to aid in enforcement of infractions of House Rules by owners and other residents). This is over the objections of a substantial number of owners, who have serious privacy concerns. Does Hawaii or Honolulu law give us any recourse against this sort of involuntary surveillance?
