A: Following the court cost increases of July and August of this year, the filing fee for absolute divorce in North Carolina (which includes court costs) is currently $225, with an additional $10 if a name change is involved. If process is to be served by the Sheriff, the fee for service is an additional $30. Any further pleading that contains a motion will cost an additional $20 to file.
