Q: What can you do to creditors who are still hounding you for payment when there is a stay in bankruptcy court.
A:
If you provided proper notice to the creditor in question, than they can not be attempting to collect any debt from you, unless they had filed and was granted a relief of stay from the bankruptcy court.
If all your paperwork was done properly and noticed all your creditors, including the creditor whose hounding you, than you do have remedies. You may file with your bankruptcy court a motion for violation of stay and depending on the severity and frequency of the "hounding" than your damages will vary to that extent.
If you are currently in bankruptcy, you should consult your current attorney. If you have filed pro se (meaning on your own), than review your paperwork and see if all parties were noticed properly. If so, you may want to consult a bankruptcy attorney who can assist you with the violation of stay committed by the creditor.
