Asked in Employment Law for Ohio

Q: I was fired from a job (OH). After, I applied for unemployment, and it was deemed I was fired without just cause.

Is there anything I can do, such as take legal action? I was under contract, and it said that I could be terminated at any time, but I wasn't sure if since it was without just cause if there was anything I can do. I do have in black and white that I was fired "without just cause."

A: Why were you terminated? The "just cause" standard is just the standard to receive Unemployment Compensation. It typically has no bearing on whether there is a legal violation.
