Q: After 7 months does a child have the right to collect on her parents inheritance they're both died from a murder suicide

My friends parents died in a murder-suicide back in October of last year she did the wrong thing and got into drugs dropped out of the scene and her brother and all the business The Inheritance he took everything left her with nothing since she didn't step forward now she's ready to collect what's rightfully hers what rights does she have in the state of California to collect from her brother

A: If both parents (who are married to each other) have passed, then the children are the heirs to the parent's estates. Every other fact you've stated is irrelevant. She will have to get an attorney to assert her interest.
