A: What is your fiance's immigration status? if your fiance has a valid immigration status he/she might be able to help you obtain legal status in the U.S. When you say you are undocumented do you mean you entered without documents or you entered legally and overstayed? If you entered legally you will be fine if you entered illegally you will need a waiver. Talk to an immigration attorney in private to help you with this process.

All the best.

A: You should look for an attorney who is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, certified in immigration.

Don't just take someone's word for it. Also, understand that in any case where someone "marries into permanent residency" a large number of questions will be asked about the relationship, etc. It isn't a slam dunk.Given your status, you really need a consultation with an AILA member so you don't say things that are not appropriate but also understand you cannot mistate things. Very delicate, better to have a lawyer doing the representations.
