Q: Is it false advertising if a business sign says free money orders, but tries charging you if your it not in their system
The sign does not say for existing customers. Or anything else. Just free Money orders. And if I were getting a money order wouldn't that make me a customer? It's not until you ask for a money order that they tell you there is a charge Or fee.

It's misleading but the type of thing that is more for the State Attorney General to address than you. If they didn't tell you about the fee and then charged you you would have an unfair trade practice.
Generally, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
A: This sounds like textbook bait and switch. You may want to inform the company of that impression and inform the local better business bureau and attorney general's office of this apparent false advertisement.
