A: Attorneys will need more information to answer this question since more facts significantly help attorneys answer questions. One fact could change the entire analysis. Here, it sounds like you were the victim of domestic violence. I'm speculating that the Department of Social Services is requesting that you obtain a restraining order to protect yourself and the children. This is commonly done as one step to establish keeping the children. Also, it sounds like the court will establish a plan for you to get the children back. Consider a consultation with a dependency lawyer since that where it sounds like this case is being heard. Once you have a referral from the court, you should be able to take the referral to the classes. Generally, parents in these types of cases are required to attend classes.
