Asked in Identity Theft for California

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, What to do to push any legal Charges against identity thief? he is known and still using the SSN?

I have a friend was broken into her car and some of her belongings were stolen including the social security card. the thief is using the social security number in everything. Also the thief added his name and his other information to my friend's bank account (to be as a user of this account).

My friend did all the legal steps to inform the credit companies about her stolen SSN. She filed a report in the police about the theft.

As I wrote above, we know the thief by his name that appears in the bank account (there is a responsibility on the bank for adding him to the bank account with no proper identifications!!!)

the thief is still using the SSN everywhere and everyday which hurts my friends records. I am writing to you because we are sure there is something should be done to stop that.

I am looking forward for your answer, and thank you in advance!
