Q: Q: Maybe I can a straight forward answer about Healthcare (obama Care) My Cataract surgery and Post op care.

I had cataract surgery on one eye in June 2016. I had Insurance . I had been 20/400 in left eye. Cataract surgery was finally approved to regain my vision. Soon as procedure started I heard Dr. say OH S*** which scared me. I was awake and heard the saying went through posterior on 1st cut to cataract. I was told the surgery is going to take longer. which I knew something was wrong. I had an emergency Vitrectomy ?? the surgery was 45min to 1 hour..Dr. acted quick and was giving orders. So finally out of surgery and have been back every appointment plus some extras because of having pain odd shapes lens seems not correct because I can see the edges halos and rings in vision. Retinal swelling anyway its been hell.Just wanted to see. Still in post op care because floaters and digital look and my vision is still bad. lost lots of work and now heathcare.org denied to renew policy

A: as to the decline to renew, haven't heard about that but with Obamacare still in effect and it's open enrollment you should be able to get a new plan.

However on the decline you need to understand why, make copies, ask your state legislators and your US congressperson and senators about this, contact your states insurance commissioner.

As to what happened, may or may not be malpractice. At this point, play "columbo" and just act like "gee, why would this be....."

When you get into your car afterwards make notes as exactly as you can as to what was said.

Reason for this is twofold--you want to see what they say happened--which may not be what happened but good to know what they'll be saying; 2) you need care for your eye right now and having a lawyer asking for documents is a good way to have them freeze and go deer in the headlights. Right now with a possible gap in insurance looking at you you are better off with a doc who should want to fix you than with doctors worried about getting paid.
