Q: Can you claim an ocean cargo (car) damage insurance for me?

Please i shipped a vehicle from FL (Jacksonville) to Tema/Ghana. Pre-sail inspection has been confirmed by the cargo/shipping line employee that the car left the port with no damage. On arrival in Ghana there are couple of damages on the car. I opt for VIP deck shipment. The shipping line now is proofing stubborn to accept my claims to pay.

I need a lawyer to assist me file a law suite against the company.

Is there anyone here to assist me?

Thanks

Michael

A: Michael you need to look at your bill of lading. It will say where claims must be handled. Look for an attorney who handles such claims. You will need proof of what the damages cost. Do understand that in the US you do not necessarily get your attorney fees returned, so an attorney will reuqire a retainer or deposit from you.
