I know I'm very late in inquiring about this but hoping for a positivery answer. About 5 years ago, I was going to school full time in Chicago Illinois and was dorming with a Chicago resident. My boyfriend at the time (now my husband) made a big mistake and stole a couple hundred dollars from the roommate. He admitted fault but was thrown out the same day and my stuff held hostage and never given back (well over $15000 clothes, books and items). The landlord had a thing for me and because I refused a date, sided with the roommate and refused to let me into the building to retrieve my items. I called the police and they refused to help me collect my items because the landlord went into hiding. I lost everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Can I sue the roommate or landlord? I also never received my deposit back. I dont remember a lease or not but i did sign a living agreement that was part of my personal belongings that was never returned. PLEASE HELP ME!!

A: No. There will never be enough evidence to deal with this now.
