Bakersfield, CA asked in Divorce for California

Q: I married a man 2/28/16 and it has been a nightmare ever since. How can I get him out?

He made me believe he had a good well established job and was going to financially help me. He moved into my house with his untrained pit bull. He doesn't help pay bills, he only borrows money and never pays it back. I have asked him to leave several times, but he will not leave. I am very financially unstable now and I feel I may lose my house soon if I do not get away from this con artist. He has maxed out all of my credit cards and used all of the money I had in savings. I am totally broke and I have a thirteen year old son, in which his father pasted away. How can I make him leave and stay away?

A: Making him leave the residence is tricky because of the marital status. There's a presumption that the home is community property subject to evidence it is not. Filing for dissolution of marriage (divorce) is a critical step. You don't want a man that will rack up debt that you could be responsible for. Each dollar you earn is a community dollar. There are many issues you should discuss with a divorce lawyer at a free initial consultation.
