Q: Malpractice in Ohio .

I had surgery January 5th of 2016 my last office visit with my surgeon was January 25 of 2016 . My nerves were not healing properly in his office noted that it would take up to at least a year for them to return . Recently it's causing me suffering I can no longer work. I went to see another professional in the same field and he diagnosed me with Neropathic pain . He stated that the surgeon cut me too deep and that my nerves were cut in healed up inside of my scar tissue and that there was nothing he could do and that I needed to seek a pain specialist . Am I too late to do anything ? I've tried making appointments with him and I cannot I've come to a complete breaking point . He didn't even do a follow up with me , he sent me to a wound center and ordered me a home nurse immediately. He never saw my end result . I'm in so much pain it's gotten unbearable, can't work or sleep at night . I feel like my life is over . The pain is just now getting to the point of unbearable .

A: You are probably not too late. Statutes of limitations are measured in years. It is, however, important to speak with an attorney as soon as possible to get the ball rolling on your claim.

A: It may possibly have run. Much will depend on when someone finds that you should have known there was a problem.Much will depend on when you got the diagnosis of neuropathic pain. You have one year from that date, possibly one year from the surgery. Contact a member ot the Ohio Assn for Justice who handles medical claims--they give free consults.

If you don't like the short statute of limitations, after the dust has settled--not now--take it up with your legislators.
