Miami, FL asked in Car Accidents for Florida

Q: Hello, my father was involved in an accident, he is a truck driver who lives in Miami, FL

The other person in the accident is from Alabama. This person did not provide an insurance, yet he had a brand new car. He is the person at fault. My question is where would my father go from here? He would at least like the persons insurance to take care of the damages cause to his truck.

A: Did your father get the person's name, address, and insurance carrier? If so, he can make a claim with the insurance carrier.

If he doesn't have that information, but has the license number, he can perhaps get more information from the Alabama motor vehicle department. If he had a brand-new car, and the car was financed, it was probably insured.

A: He should run the damages through his insurance and let them find him. The person hopefully gave him a license to write down things on. He can call the person tell them if they don't give the insurance information he will have to report that to DMV.
