Q: Im 15 and pregnant, can i move in with my 19 year old boyfriend?
I met my boyfriend when i was 13 and he was 17 however we began a relationship when i was 14 and he was 18. We had an intamite relationship and my mom found out. She filed a report to the police. I ran away twice with him throughout the investigation and the case was closed no charges against him. Then i ran away with him again for 5 months and got pregnant( i was 14 he was 18). Im 15 now and im back with my parents. im about to give birth but my parents dont let me see him or want him near the baby. i want to live with him and his mom is okay with that. He has a job and an apartment we can live. I will continue school. Is there any way i can go live with him without my parents consent, without him getting in trouble with the law?
A: Sexual relations with a minor is statutory rape. For him to house a minor runaway is also a crime. You may consider filing for emancipation rights, but that will not protect him from criminal charges such as those noted above.
