Q: Can you get in trouble for getting out of a vehicle allowing a intoxicated person to drive them self?

If you have been driving the person around who is clearly to intoxicated to drive in their own vehicle and you then get out and allow them to drive their self i and they get in a wreck and die in the state of nc can you get in trouble
