Amount. But won't let him see the child. If doesn’t have money to hire an attorney which i believe the Civil Indigent Status comes into play. If he gets rights to see the child more, will the amount go down? And how does the child support amount get determined

This would be a civil, not criminal case. Therefore whether or not he is indigent, he is not entitled to a free attorney.
Whether or not he is allowed visitation with the child doesn't affect how much child support he is required to pay.
