Q: need probono-Need advice on how to file motion of default, child support & maintenances in Kane County IL
I filed for divorce 4/2017 husband was served in 5/2017-did not respond to summons and he did not show up to the court date which was today. Judge told me to file motion for default and child support, maintenance and possibly college tuition
I can't afford an attorney to retain one. Both kids (18&16) live with me and have no relationship with their father. He has not supported his kids since we left in 2016
A: Call the Kane County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service and ask for their direction. They may offer pro bono assistance. At the least, they will get you an in-person consultation with a divorce lawyer for a very, very small fee.
