Q: My stepdad gave meth to a minor. If she makes a report on top of the domestic violence charges my mom is pursuing
In the divorce, is there still a chance he will get some of the property? He did the following for domestic charges:
Smashed glass, took property they bought together(computers for their joint business), released horses off property, neglected the dogs, screamed profanities in my face and slammed the door then broke it, smeared feces all over the bathroom walls, smashed toilet, sht off water and electricity to house when me and my four year old were there and in the past burned my son with an insence.
He has a previous domestic. Jolene charge from his previous marriage, this is his 5th marriage, my mom has called cops before to remove her things safely, they now jointly own 10 acres outside SD and my mom is worried he will fight for it.
A:
MOM SHOULD CONSULT WITH A LAWYER WHO WILL GATHER INFO ON EVERYTHING.
THIS HAS FAMILY LAW ISSUES AND CRIMINAL ISSUES.
WHERE THE POLICE CALLED ON PRIOR ACTS OF VIOLENCE? WHAT HAPPENED? WAS HE ON PROBATION OR WAS THERE A RESTRAINING ORDER OUT OF CRIMINAL COURT OR FAMILY LAW COURT?
WRITE OUT A SUMMARY OF ALL THIS (INCLUDING INFO ON PRIOR ACTS WITH OTHERS WITH WHOM HE WAS INVOLVED.)
YOU WANT TO HAVE EVERYTHING ORGANIZED TO SHARE WITH YOUR LAWYER...EITHER PRIVATE OR COURT APPOINTED.
