Q: If my defense driving class got rescheduled to the day after my court date due to inclement weather what will happen
Will I be able to turn it in the next day? Or will my court date be rescheduled completely?
A: You likely will have to request a continuance at your next court date, and set your next court date for a time after you've finished the course. If you bring documentation that the company administering the class rescheduled your class, through no fault of your own, you should be fine.
A: No you can't turn it in the next day like some overdue homework assignment. And no, the Court will not automatically continue (reschedule) your court date. If you have an attorney, your attorney will handle all of this for you. Of course, if you had an attorney you likely wouldn't need to attend a defensive driving class. So if you do not have an attorney, you will have to go to Court stand tall before the man and produce sufficient cause that you need a continuance of your Court date in order to complete the class. So if you didn't hire an attorney by now hopefully you are seeing why that was a bad idea.
