Cleveland, OH asked in Consumer Law for Ohio

Q: can I be reimbursed?

I bought a memory foam mattress about a year ago and now have fiberglass everywhere! All my clothes, sheets, towels, blankets and pillows are covered. Also my daughter just got diagnosed with asthma. Everything I have read is that I need to just throw everything away. I can not afford to do that. My washer and dryer are ruined. Everything!

A: Look at the label. Does it say fibreglass? Are you sure it's what it is? Did you save samples from the dryer?

Bottom line is that it shouldn't be fiibreglass--and the label is inaccurate if it says otherwise so you have a consumer grievance .

Second, to determine if it is the matress, if you haven't already why not get a zippable total coverage anti-dust mite matress case and box spring case. Then after a couple of weeks if the insides have what you think is fibreglass you have proof that it was the mattress (I don't see what else it would be but going that step takes away a point of denial.

Write to them, hard copy. Address it to risk manager, ________________ Inc., etc

File a notice with the CPSC, and if mislabled with the FTC and your state's AG's Office of

Consumer Protection.

good luck!
